Designed for growing kids with a firmer, more supportive feel as compared to the Naturepedic 2-in-1 mattress. An encased coil system provides firm support and greater stability. Made from safer, healthier, 100% GOTS certified organic cotton and wool, this mattress does not contain polyurethane foam, and passes all flammability standards without chemical fire retardant additives. A definite step up in support and overall quality in the Naturepedic product line for younger, growing kids. The Verse will provide a longer useable lifespan than the 2-in-1 before having to purchase another mattress for your child.

SLEEP365 does not recommend this mattress for older kids, teens, or long-term use because it does not have any cushioning, so heavier kids or adults (snuggling or co-sleeping) tend to feel the coil structure of the mattress after lying on it for an extended time. A better option for long-term use, parental snuggling or co-sleeping, older kids and teens is the Naturepedic Serenade. The Verse Organic Kids Mattress is a firmer, better quality option for growing kids, while the Organic 2-in-1 Kids Mattress is mainly a transitional mattress for toddlers. The Verse has more long-term use potential while the 2-in-1 is for short-term use. The Verse features an upgraded individually encased coil system that is more supportive for growing, older, heavier kids. For parents who wish to co-sleep or snuggle their kids, the Verse is a much better option. The 2-in-1 does have a lower profile than the Verse though, so it may be a better option for bunk beds and trundles depending on your specific furniture dimensions/requirements.

The Verse Organic Kids Mattress can be used on platform style beds including bunk beds. However, the Verse does have a 9-inch profile so you should verify the recommended mattress height from the furniture manufacturer to ensure the mattress will not be too tall for safe use on your bunk bed.

How firm is the Verse Organic Kids Mattress?

The Verse is firmer than the 2-in-1 making it a better long-term option.

Do I need a foundation/box spring with the Verse Organic Kids Mattress?

Maybe. The purpose of a foundation is to support the mattress and set the height of the top of the mattress. If you are using a traditional metal bed frame or a piece of furniture that is built to take a foundation, then you will need one. If you have a platform style bed frame at the correct height, there is no need for a foundation. If your platform has a slatted surface, make sure the spacing between slats is no more than 3" to ensure proper support and performance over time.

Should I use a mattress pad or protector with the Verse?

SLEEP365 recommends using a mattress pad or protector on any mattress. Doing so will protect your investment by helping to keep your mattress clean and sanitary, maximizing its lifespan and helping to keep your warranty in effect.
