Description
The SLEEP365 Wood Slat Foundation is a heavy-duty, slatted wood bed foundation built to provide firm, non-toxic support for any mattress, hybrid, latex, memory foam, or innerspring. Each foundation is constructed from solid, kiln-dried North American lumber and wrapped in a GOTS-certified organic cotton fabric cover, with a center support rail running the length of the unit for additional rigidity. There are no chemical fire retardants, no glue-bonded particle board, and no off-gassing.
The slats are 2.5" wide and spaced 3" apart. That spacing matters: it sits well within the 3-inch maximum gap that nearly every mattress manufacturer (including ours, and most major hybrid and latex brands) requires to keep a warranty intact. Wider gaps can cause a mattress to dip between slats over time. Tighter spacing restricts airflow and traps heat against the underside of a latex or memory foam core. A 3" gap is the sweet spot, rigid enough to support the mattress evenly, open enough to let it breathe.
The foundation is offered in two heights and a full range of sizes:
5" Wood Slat Foundation - a low-profile height for bed frames where you want to keep the top of the mattress lower, or for taller mattresses you don't want to stack to ceiling height.
8" Wood Slat Foundation - a traditional height that mimics a classic box spring footprint, suitable for most bed frames.
Sizes: Twin, Twin XL / Split King, Full, Queen, King, Cal King, Split Cal King.
If you do not want to use a separate bed frame, add the optional set of 5" or 7" natural rubberwood legs (set of 9). Installed in minutes without tools, the legs convert either height of the foundation into a complete, freestanding bed base, no metal frame, no headboard required. The unfinished rubberwood pairs cleanly with both modern and traditional bedrooms.
Assembly is tool-free and modular; each foundation ships flat and can be assembled in under fifteen minutes. The Wood Slat Foundation is backed by a 10-year, non-prorated limited warranty. Note: foundations are a final sale, please review the assembly guide and size chart before ordering.

MEDIUMThe 5" Wood Slat Foundation is the "just right" balance for sleepers who find a standard 8" foundation pushes the top of the mattress too high, particularly with a thicker hybrid or latex mattress on top, or in a low-profile bedroom where the bed is meant to sit closer to the floor. It carries the same wood, cover, and slat spacing as the 8" version; only the height changes.
